We filmed and edited live the Flagpole Music Awards last night. Thank you to Alex at the Morton Theatre for always helping us get a good audio feed from the board. These links will take you to our vimeo page where you can view the entire video, or you can watch the two videos on the left.

Below you can see our production setup. This was the first time we have filmed the ceremonies with 3 cameras. One camera is a wideshot, one camera is a close up of the stage, and the other is a close up for the students. We tried to use that camera view as much as possible.

In the past, we have not put any concentration into live production using multiple cameras and a switcher. That is typically the realm of broadcast production. But we recently purchased equipment that allows us to do software based live production that incorporates hardware for the many inputs and outputs. The main advantage of this is that we are now able to get live programs onto the internet almost immediately after the event, using H264 encoding.  Our first event was a presentation at the Winterville Depot, that used 2 cameras and a Powerpoint slide presentation which we took from a computer (this was also presented on the internet live using WebEx).
