If you are from out town and will be filming in Athens, or if you are a producer and need a crew, then please think about hiring Athens Video for the video production phase of your project. If you are coming from out of town, there is no need to bring your equipment, as we have almost everything you'll need (I say almost because no one can have everything). We have several clients who simply hire us to film, then they take the footage with them for editing.
I am reminded to mention this because we have a new client based in New York coming down for a few days and they will be hiring us for the video production phase of their project. It will require cameras, lights, audio, teleprompter - and all the little things that you might need.

In keeping with the subject of the unglamorous aspects of video production, when you are thinking about which company to use, do you consider their equipment and contingency plans? For instance, what if their computer fails? Will they have a back up solution so that your project isn't on hold until they get things back up? Athens Video has multiple workstations with the same production software on it, so if one computer goes, we just move to the next station and keep working. And when a computer does go down, we have the resources to get it back up within a day, providing the parts are easily obtained.
We received our Vinten Vision 10 fluid tripod head today. This replaces another Vision 10 LF head that somehow broke. It's amazing how much tripod heads cost (the legs are fine, so they didn't need replacing).
